Can I get medical marijuana products over the counter?
There has been significant media hype around the fact that Cannabidiol has been down-scheduled from prescription-only medicine to be available as an over the counter pharmacy drug. We are very excited about the change as it will increase access for the community. Unfortunately, there are currently no products available for sale over the counter and will not be probably for the remainder of this year, as companies go through the process of getting their products registered on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG). In the meantime, access to medicinal cannabis is still via a registered Medical Practitioner. Register and book an appointment with a Doctor to determine your eligibility. Products containing Tetrahydrocannabinol will remain as a Prescription Only Medicine.
